Decolorization Of Textile Dyes And Their Effluents Using White Rot Fungi

ثبت نشده
چکیده

The ability of four different species of white rot fungi viz., Coriolus versicolor, Termetomyces sp, Pleurotus ostreatus and Schizophyllum commune to remove Azo dyes from aqueous solutions were evaluated in batch culture under laboratory conditions. C. versicolor was found to be the most efficient colour removing species for the three dyes investigated. Maximum removal capacity of C. versicolor for acid green, disperse red and basic orange was 98, 76 and 61% respectively. Glucose as the carbon source in growth medium was more suitable for the decolouration of dyes in comparison with starch at the same concentration. Preliminary studies indicate that C. versicolor has the potential to remove colour from aqueous solutions and may be used as an efficient biological agent for the decolouration of dyes in industrial effluents.

Valorization and Biodecolorization of Dye Adsorbed on Lignocellulosics Using White Rot Fungi

Biosorption of dyes by lignocelluloses may be an effective method for removing dyes from textile effluents. However, the resulting dyeadsorbed lignocellulosic materials may constitute another pollution problem. An integrated method can solve this problem. Here, various lignocelluloses were tested for their Astrazon Black and Astrazon Blue dyes removal activities. The dye adsorbed after 30 min c...

Effect of nutrient nitrogen on laccase production, its isozyme pattern and effluent decolorization by a fungus (NIOCC #2a) isolated from mangrove wood

Carbon and nitrogen sources in the growth medium play an important role in the production of lignin-degrading enzymes in the white-rot basidiomyceteous fungi. The role of nutrient nitrogen sources in growth media on production of lignin-degrading enzymes namely laccase, lignin peroxidase and manganese peroxidase as well as on the decolorization of industrial effluents like black liquor, molasse...
